Job Purpose
Administration of customers' insurance requirements on a daily basis including processing documentation and instructions, administration of renewals and endorsements, reviewing policy wordings and advising on appropriate coverage.
Produce quotations and reports, maintain customer data, negotiate with Insurers/Underwriters and customers and provide technical support to Account Executives.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- To work closely with Directors / Account Executives and other staff to provide the highest standards of service to customers.
- To be conversant with the Company Procedures manual and the requirements of the FSA/CII Standards and Rules and to implement and maintain procedures as stipulated.
- To be conversant with the requirements of the FSA and operate within their Rules and in particular the FSA Statements of Principal and Code of Business Practice.
- To provide technical and customer service support to Directors/Account Executives.
- To review policy wording and advise on appropriate coverage.
- To assimilate, analyse and present complex information to Insurers/Underwriters to achieve risk acceptance at the most advantageous terms.
- To prepare complex customer reports on both new and existing risks to support the Account Executives.
- To prepare quotations within agreed guidelines.
- To review renewals and liaise with Account Executives in resolving any problems and negotiating advantageous terms.
- To administer renewal documentation, renewal quotations, MTAs, claims and accounting procedures.
- To input and process computer data including renewal documents, accounting documents, new policy records, amendments and production of letters/memos.
- To process correspondence and instructions, referring as appropriate, and within agreed parameters.
- To deal with incoming queries from customers, insurers and other third parties.
- Oral and written communications with customers, insurers and other third parties.
- Use of Insight to transmit information to insurers and subsequent issue of relevant documentation to customers.
- To be computer literate in and have a thorough working knowledge of the Company software.
- To be aware of market conditions and the strengths and weaknesses of competitors and Insurers/Underwriters.
- The ability to react to changing circumstances and environments and assist in the design and implementation of Company strategies.
- Visits to customers where agreed with the Account Executive.
Required Experience and/or Qualifications
Fifteen years plus experience in Insurance for the Construction Industry. Interpersonal skills and the ability to work with other staff to provide the highest standards of customer service. An in-depth knowledge of general commercial insurance products and industry protocols.
Salary or Grade Level
Negotiable depending on experience.
